The Who, What, Where, and When

 Who:

Pastor Sue, Sara Korpi, Connor Korpi, Cindy Shaver, Megan Leetch, Marissa Armstrong and Jennifer Gravelle

What:

Traveling to Tanzania to visit Newport's partner congregation in Kimala.

This partnership is part of the Bega Kwa Bega partnership between the Saint Paul Area Synod in Minnesota and the Iringa Diocese in Tanzania. This trip is centered on relationships, or as Bega Kwa Bega describes it:

"The focus of BKB travel is building relationships between communities of faith and deepening understandings of the global sweep of God's mission and our roles as co-participants in it."

Where:

Travel: We will fly from MSP to Amsterdam and then continue on to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania. From there we will drive ~8-10 hours to Iringa.

We will visit other sites in and around Iringa before traveling to Kimala. We will visit a hospital, orphanage, university, and secondary school.
Additionally we will have the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the area by visiting the Isimila Stone Age site and going on Safari drives in Ruaha National Park.

When:

We leave Minnesota on August 3, arrive in Tanzania early on August 5, and will return home on August 18.

Keep checking back for updates on our travels!
